Sparkle Girlz Fashion Packs 2.0

Sparkle Girlz is at it again! I snapped these up at my most recent wally world trip and they are better than expected!

The fringe on this dress is kind of amazing.

LOVE a short set! Makes her legs go on for days!

Finally got a Brandy doll. I don't know why it took me so long. Do you know I never got this doll when I was young even though I was deep into collecting when it came out?

Don't judge me, I have not wanted to remove the goop from her hair yet.

I personally live in maxi dresses during warmer weather so this needed to come home with me!

Addy is here!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How cute is she?! I'm over the moon! (I was not supposed to say this publicly but there has been some in fighting as to which family will adopt her)

I'm Know I'm Late to The Party But.....

I LOVE THESE DOLLS!!!

I went down the other pink aisle at my local Meijer for the first time to discover not only did they carry Kenya's World dolls, but also discounted...greatly. Gold Star for Val for varying her shopping routine! I ended up getting eight total but returned one. TJ (in the track suit) had super loose joints so he had to go.

1) So this outfit had potential, but was just all over the place. I got three versions of this Kenya, Fireside Chatting  dolls, Kenya Beverly Hills and Riviera. I cut her hair by half and put her in something more figure flattering.

2) This is my only Denise. Everything is on point here. Absolutely loved the outfit top to bottom.
Both are really well made and super cute! I almost flipped when I saw/felt the hair.
Excellent curl pattern and texture.

3)  Kenya Movin On: I didn't get a chance to take of photo when she arrived so this is a stock pic from Amazon. The top, hat, jacket and hat are all pretty great, but I find I like them best as separates. The only down side was the leggings did stain her thighs.

4)  Kenya Riviera: aka the pink suit. I wanted to do something different with her hair and since I haven't mastered doll dreads yet I gave her some braids.

The Boys The Boys!

TJ and Dwayne

I need to find out the back story but does anyone know if TJ is supposed to be older? That was one idea I had about the height difference.

The only issue with the Kenya dolls was that some of the joints were loose, and the neck doesn't have full range of motion but that doesn't deter my love at all. These are a welcomed addition to my collection. Also I purchased a second Keyshia hoping to get the "other" face, but I ended up with the same one. Ah well.

Extras/Updates

I took gave the Chandra body to Tally and Chandra got a Kenya body

Got two Steve dolls and new outfits. Since mattel has given up on making a jointed or different version of him, my next project is adding facial hair.

I finally got adorable freckles!

The Blogger App for iPad Sucks and Other Excuses...

While I mostly need this blog to be a happy place there are forces at work that prevent it from being so, mainly Apple products. I have now documented enough material for at least four posts that have never happened. First the Blogger App really REALLY stinks. I have spent hours uploading, moving and resizing photos, save the post as a draft only to log onto my husbands computer and find nothing. Oh, BTW I'm using his desktop because two weeks ago my MacBook Air decided to stop turning on. It's not even 14 months old. <insert steam coming out of my ears emoji>

I am in desperate need of happy me time so I am doing whatever it takes to make that happen today...tonight. I am out of school for the next two weeks and trying to cram as many enjoyable as possible and Valerie's Dollies is second only to working out. Thank you for everyone who visits and supports :-)

XOXO

Horses, Horses, HORSES!! ( I love little Froggy)

My horse collection!

I have a confession: one day I will live on a ranch not unlike Ralph Laurens except much MUCH smaller. I love horses and since I cannot have one IRL doesn't mean my dollies have to go without. I have five total, Three Liv and two from Barbie Cali Girl. From left to right are Liv Walnut (my favorite), Mattel Topanga, Liv Nutmeg, Liv Clover and on the end is Mattel Baja.

I know these are not riding boots, but thats because they clashed with her outfit :-)

I really really want the black Cali Girl horse but have come up empty during every online and in person search. If anyone has that horse I will happily swap Nutmeg for it, or if you know where I can get one please let me know. Hope everyone is having a wonderful day! :)

Two New Additions

It's safe to say that Mattel is well aware that doll lovers/collectors the world over are swapping bodies to give articulation to otherwise stiff models. So they are most than happy to save a few cents on the dollar not selling them already articulated, sending us to eBay to get overpriced donors or back to them to purchase more. Sigh. This is especially true for deeper hues like SIS Chandra who is now listed on amazon for $147! No matter what store I go to there is always an excess of blonde dolls and the amount looks the same each time. I dont believe for one second they're selling out and restocking daily, that's crap. I will keep visiting thrift stores hoping to strike gold. I didn't need a scavenger hunt for my next find, I was simply in a different neighborhood for my daughter doctors appointment and decided to stop by the local Targét and voila! The chocolate 2015 fashionista! (What's her name ya'll? I have no idea) And went around the next aisle to find another gem. Moxie Girlz Friends Amorie! What an adorable name.

Doll shopping is so thrilling. Oh how I've missed it!

So stunning! I'm going to pilfer through to see if her face mold matches anyone in my collection, at first glance I would say the University of Tennessee but I will double check.

Yup, looks like the same mold.

This little angel. Her hair is already curled which I really appreciate and she stands on her own like a Kelly doll and for a fraction of the price! I was hoping to find more but she was the only one.

It's Raining Men!

I was casually browsing the inter webs the entire month of december in search of my favorite playscale men dolls and ended up back at Starting Line Up. I love even though they might not look  exactly like the inspiration, all the added little details makes them my most favorite doll purchases.

From L to R: Glen Rice, Jerry Rice Kenner, and Barry Sanders

Naturally they didn't stay single for long. Most of them were paired up with families almost immediately :-)

 The Rice Family
Glen, Deja, and Jocelyn
 The Kenner's
Brooke, Jerry, and Teyanna

 The Sander's
Lyla and Barry

I love these two!
